ED637:  Integrating Technology in the Curriculum

Dr. Jacqui Cyrus

I am Lutgarda L. Tungol.  I teach at Southern High School, Business Department.  I have been a teacher for six years.  Prior to becoming a teacher, I was working for Duty Free Shoppers, as a Team Leader for the Inventory Department.  I have worked for DFS for twenty-one years.   I have earned by Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Administration from University of Guam.  I have two wonderful children, a daughter and a son.

I believe that human beings are naturally curious and have a desire to understand the world around them.  With curiousity, students will be able to face the real world, once they have their high school diploma.  Some concepts to be learned in the classroom must be relevant to their experiences, in the past and in the future.  In the process, learning will be meaningful to the students, and will be able to assimilate knowledge and apply it in the real world.  In the number of years that I have experienced as a teacher at Southern High School, I have observed and experienced facts that I have considered as challenges and opportunities.

My heartfelt gratitude to Dr. J. Cyrus for giving us the encouragement and motivation to integrate technology in our teaching.

My sincerest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Rosa Palomo and Mr. Zander Refilong, for the support, and making it possible to earn my certification to teach LOTE  students.
